pink bathrooms

I stumbled upon this website save the pink bathrooms that is urging people to preserve vintage pink bathrooms. I wish I could have showed this to my dad when I asked him gently to please consider leaving the tile in my nana's old bathroom before remodeling it. He gave a smart answer asking if I wanted to pay for it if that's what I wanted. They would have thought I was crazy if I asked to save all the tiles just so that in 20 years I could make it pink and maroon again.

After they died and the house was changing more and more I found comfort in sitting in the bathroom, up on the sink, just to remember, just to feel at home.

I loooove pink bathrooms, as I'm sure you know, and I loved your Nana's bathroom with all the Cabbage Patch Kids and the puppy! :[

My Dad renovated our bathroom when I moved out. I asked him to keep a tile of the of old bathroom for me. He did and that Christmas I my luggage was even heavier as I had a carefully wrapped 25cm x 15cm tile complete with a large chunk of crumbly cement on the back. It now sits in my Melbourne bathroom waiting for the house I might one day own.
