When I first moved to San Francisco I was very sure that everyone lived in beautiful victorian houses painted shades of pink, purple and gold, and that one day I would live in one too, clawfoot tub and all. Well, that didn't happen, and I've come to appreciate the more simple buildings, especially these huge white ones in two different parts of the city. I pass both of these a couple times a week and often wonder just how many people live in them.
