a get away

I needed to get out the city yesterday. I was sure there was a bright sun waiting for us somewhere over the bridge, if we could only get far enough. Even though we never saw the sun, it was worth driving away to magical places. Green Gulch Zen Center makes you feel alone in a cove of forest and mountain with hobbit like houses and rows of vegetables, circles of flowers, and trees buzzing with bees and hummingbirds. We came back to SF in the late evening and Golden Gate Park was a sea of trash from bay to breakers. We avoided most of the drunken insane crowds, but it was sad to see the mess that that ridiculous event creates. Sometimes San Francisco, I just don't understand the things you allow.
