The backyard is heaven. I used to have to walk up or down a hill to get to a spot of grass, but now there's so much to see just outside the back door. The tall cactus blooms once a year and only for a day or two, big beautiful white flowers, and the marigolds have bloomed big since we planted them in the summer. Not only do they help to keep the bad bugs away, but for the first year I won't have to buy them for my muertos altar, I just trimmed the plants and have my own. I make sure to spend some time back there each week to get back whatever this was I missed for so many years: space, and your very own green.
